Garnier Micellar water

This post is a must read if you have been searching for a new best friend makeup remover and skin cleanser. The Garnier Micellar water hype was huge, it still is, and all with reason! This really is a truly fantastic product! Everyone that wears any kind of makeup should have a bottle of this and also a back up bottle just in case you run out! Micellar water comes in the pink bottle for sensitive skin or the Blue pure active version, I have been using the pink one so my review is based on it.

Garnier micellar water.jpg

So what do you do with Micellar water.. It is a cleansing water that removes makeup and dirt as well as cleanses and soothes skin. I use it daily for many different uses, In the mornings when I put on my makeup I use it on a cotton bud to correct my eye-liner line and clean up mascara or eye shadow smudges, I can not stress enough how fantastic it is for this job because unlike the usual makeup remover it is non oily and leaves no residue so it does not mess with your other makeup for the day or leave your eye area looking shiny. The product is hypoallergenic and fragrance free.

Garnier Micellar cleansing water.jpg

In the evenings I either use it on its own on a cotton ball to remove my makeup before falling asleep on days I am most deadly tired and cant even wash my face (Jip pregnancy can do that to you) and because Micellar water is non greasy you don’t even have to wash it off your face, it will not annoy you and you wont wake up looking like an oil slick. Or if I shower and wash my face in the shower I then use the Micellar water afterwards on a cotton ball to take off stubborn mascara and liner that didn’t come off in the shower, it removes even the most stubborn makeup with a breeze of ease! I also use it on a cotton ball to clean off my makeup containers and foundation bottles that sometimes get a bit dirty with makeup residue.

Now these handy little babies sell for only R79-99 and the bottles are generously big 400ml and when it says you get up to 200 uses out of it they are not kidding cause it really does go a very very long way! Bargain alert! They have also brought out Micellare wipes now, how cool is that?! I haven’t tried them yet but will let you know when I do because I am sure to progress to a lazy stage of pregnancy where I need loads of wipes.

Caribbean Tan Tanning Mousse

I have worked my way through loads of the Caribbean tan products but I actually never tried the bronzing mousse, for some reason I thought it wouldn’t work as well. Well I was wrong and gosh was I surprised at how amazing the mousse actually is! It has quickly jumped to the top of my favorite tanning products list.

Caribbean tan bronzing mousse.jpg

I use shade B but shade A is also great for just having an every day tanned look. This product doesn’t need that much explaining, it is super simple to use and you cant go wrong. All you have to do is make sure that your skin is clean and nicely exfoliated before hand and then just pump out the foam and rub it all over your body! This lovely light foam soaks into skin super quick and is non sticky so you don’t sit with that sticky self tan feeling for hours after applying. It is gradual color so your color will develop over a few hours. If you are using your hands then just remember to was your hands properly and maybe twice lol to just make sure you get it off your hands and do not end up with stained hands. To be safe you can use one of the Caribbean tan tanning gloves. I like to apply in the evenings and then the next morning I am all tanned and can have a shower.

Caribbean Tan Tanning mousse.jpg

I have also learnt that since I am now pregnant that it is more recommended that I use the mousse instead of the spritzer or aerosol cans, lucky for us pregnant ladies the mousse actually turned out to be more convent in the end so I am happy about that. I can definitely recommend this product , you can buy it at Dischem or clicks stores for only R99-95, Or you can even get it off of Takealot.

Drops of Youth – Bouncy sleeping mask

I absolutely LOVE the product I am reviewing today, I do not actually know why I did not try this product sooner, I buy so much from the body shop and love every product of their’s so I don’t know why it took me so long to try the Drops of Youth range for facial anti aging.

The thing that attracted me to this product was the odd gel like look and feel it has, this night cream-gel has a very unique consistency that is surprisingly fabulous!! This ended up being just what I needed to nourish my skin at night and help it look fantastic the next morning.

The Body Shop

The Drops of Youth Bouncy sleeping mask is a gel like night cream/mask that moisturizes and replenishes skin over night leaving it feeling bouncier, smoother, refreshed and renewed. Wake up with plumper smoother skin that feels great! The amazing thick gel like consistency means you only need to use a small amount of product and this means your 90ml jar goes a long way for its very affordable price of R250 .

Being 11weeks pregnant now my poor skin is so up and down with problems but this leave on night mask has help wonders to keep my skin on an even level and nourish it while I sleep at night. It is not oily or greasy so it does not clog pores or cause break outs. I have even used it as a booster in the morning as a day cream and it worked fabulously.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth.jpg

This product gets a big thumbs up from me and I can highly recommend buying it, It has a very refreshing light smell that calms and relaxes making it perfect for a relaxed night routine. The cream-gel absorbes into skin quickly and does not leave skin feeling sticky at all. The results are great and it really does what it promises to. A treasure of a find that is way worth every cent of its price!!!

Ps: I think the body shop is still having a bit of a sale if you wanna go check it out 🙂

Benefit b.right Radiant Skincare

I waited a while before getting my hands on any benefit products to try out, the reason for this is that we don’t have a benefit counter in George so I waited till I got a chance to visit one so I could check out the items and decide what to buy. Its great buying online but I just could not decide what to get!

Benefit skincare

One of the Items I got from Benefit is the b.right Radiant Skincare travel intro set. It contains six little tester size items so you can try out the range before buying it, this is great for anyone that doesn’t want to spend loads on skincare to then just find out it doesn’t work with your skin. This beautiful little skincare pack costs only R295 and you can get it at your local benefit counter or online from RedSquare.

Benefit Cosmetics Skincare.jpg

So The pack contains the following:

  1. Foamingly Clean Facial wash 8.9g
  2. Moisture Prep Toning Lotion 8.9ml
  3. It’s Potent! Eye Cream 3.0g

  5. Triple Performing Facial Emulsion 8.9ml
  6. Refined Finish Facial Polish 8.9g

This pack contains everything you need to try out the full skincare range and is great for traveling. It comes in a neat little box and also has a little travel bag to keep it all in, super handy! I find all of the items in the pack to be extremely refreshing for skin and highly concentrated so these little babies actually last a while.

b.right skincare.jpg

These products have a very light fragrance to them that is beyond refreshing, skin feels instantly refreshed and moisturized when these are applied. The foaming facial wash takes only a tiny bit to produce the most perfect face wash with loads of foam and the refined finish facial polish results in super smooth skin that is the perfect surface for then applying makeup.

Benefit b.right radiant skincare.jpg

The facial cream, eye cream and facial emulsion are nice and thick and supply skin with great moisture and radiance! The moisture prep toning lotion is perfect for preparing skin before applying moisturizer and all together this set has your skin sorted and looking radiant! Panasonic Wet & Dry Epilator

The New Panasonic wet and dry Epilator has fast become my new go to for hair removal. I have been testing it out for two weeks now and I am falling more and more in love with it. Now I have to mention that first the little gadget actually scared me lol and it was painful at first but after a few good attempts and a glass of wine, now that I have the hang of it, it has turned out to be a blessing! I was lucky enough to receive it from Beauty Bulletin to review, you can also go sign up to the Beauty Bulletin site and stand a chance to review items for free!

Panasonic wet and dry epilator.jpg

With summer here it is now time to keep up with all the shaving and looking like a well groomed person on the beach, Bikini season means shaving all the little hairs to avoid the embarrassment of being caught with hairy arm pits. This is such a handy little thing and the fact that you can use it in the bath or shower makes it even better! Would be better for first time users to try it out in the bath first cause the hot water does heat up the skin and make it easier for the hairs to come out and using it with some shower gel for foam makes sure that your skin is left smoother and less dry.

Panasonic Eplilator.jpg

The Panasonic wet and dry Epilator is cordless and rechargeable and has a nice compact size that fits perfect in the palm of your hand making it super easy to use. You can even throw this baby into your hand bag and take it with you to make sure you don’t get stuck in a situation with hairy legs, Like those unplanned summer trips to the beach! This is also serious value for money in regards to once you have purchased it then you have it. It is not like waxing or shaving that you constantly have to buy new products or pay to have it done and because it is rechargeable you do not even have to buy batteries. So you know I am gonna be looking after mine so we have a nice long run together 🙂  Another Bonus of it is that it wont interfere with your spray tan like shaving does! meaning you can remove hairs without it taking your tan off.

Epilator.jpg

The Panasonic Epilator works with 24 little tweezers that rotate super fast and pluck out the hair from its root. It has the power to remove even the shortest fine hairs and results in hair growing back slower, thinner/softer and less hair growing back so your second use is much easier. it is recommended to Epilate once a week but with regular use hairs should grow back slower and then you can move to using it less regular or as needed for touch ups.

Epilator Hair Removal.jpg

The Epilator comes with a charger and a little cleaning comb and retails for R599. If you are looking for Christmas presents then this would be great for yourself as well as for your friends, really an item that will be well used.

Lancome Genifique week 4 Results – Last week.

So its my Last week of the Beauty Bulletin Lancome Genifique update and wow what a fantastic month it has been! I have loved every day of using the product and it has made such a big difference on my skin, It has really been so refreshing to use a facial serum that lives up to its promises. If you are interested in getting some for your self then you can buy online at this link: Shop Lancome

Genifique results

The last week I have found that the results have stabilized, I haven’t noticed any large differences like I did the first two weeks but this is normal for any product. My skin is still looking fantastic and my skin tone is better than ever and my age spots and dark marks are fading wonderfully. The one thing I can say I have noticed this week is that my forehead seems more smoothed out, less uneven and pores and lines seen much much better. My overall thoughts on the Lancome Genifique is that it is fantastic! I can really recommend to anyone that is looking for a fantastic facial serum that actually does its job well to then buy this one. The bottle also lasts long, I am now starting week 5 of using it and I think by looking in the bottle I can still get another week or two out of using it if i stick to the one drop in the morning and evening.

Lancome Genifique

I would definitely hands down repurchase this product and I think if you did a good few months of continuous use of it then the results and improvements on your skin would be totally amazing, remember that you should do a few months on a product so it has time to work its magic properly and you can see better results. So if you find something that really works with your skin then go ahead and buy it again so it can carry on working wonders.

Lancome Advanced Genifique week 4

So here above is my week 3 and week 4 results to compare, this mornings photo was me literally just out of the shower and had a bit of bad light so its a bit blurry but you get the point 🙂  I am happy that I don’t have any visible dark marks or marks from acne so that is a huge improvement that the Lancome made, I had a mark or two on my cheek area when I started this trial.  My skin is also smoother than it has ever been without me even putting in any effort to scrub and sort it out. This Lancome Genifique serum is really a low maintenance way of keeping your skin looking grand and its best!

A Big thanx to Beauty Bulletin for choosing me for this trial and Obviously thanx to Lancome 🙂 If you are interested in being chosen to test out lovely beauty products for free then you should definitely join the Beauty Bulletin community!

Lancome Genifique – Week 3 Results

I am now in week 4 of the Beauty Bulletin Lancome trials and so here are my week 3 results! I must just say that I have never before been so impressed with a facial serum as I am with this one! Wow is all I can say 🙂 The results really speak for themselves. I have watched my skin transform and smooth out over the last 3 weeks and I am so so very happy with this product, it is going to result in a repurchase for me 😉

Lancome Advanced Genifique

The Lancome Advanced Genifique serum is suited for all ages & skin types and will transform your skin! It targets the 10 signs of youth: texture, resiliency, elasticity, firmness, sagginess, fine lines, wrinkles, radiance, even skin tone, and clarity. I can say that I have honestly noticed an improvement on all of those age signs! The bottle also lasts long, im now starting week 4 and I would say my bottle is just under half if I look inside, I recon if you stick to your two drops a day dosage then u can get about 2 months out of a bottle. Looking at all of that then you can see that it actually is worth every cent of its price, If you wanna buy yourself some you can get it on the Beauty Bulletin pop up shop.

Advanced Genifique

After 3 weeks of applying the serum one drop twice daily, My skin is feeling smoother than ever! I dont feel the need to scrub as often as I usual did as the serum keeps my skin feeling super soft and smooth. Pores and fine lines are most definitely less visible and in general my skins appearance is brighter and younger looking. My skin is glowing a new refreshing energy 🙂 With a product as fabulous as this by your side, you can definitely Love your age! I am still impressed with the packaging of the product and the easy self loading button dropper it has, Lancome has really out done them selves with this one! Here below is last weeks no makeup selfie and then this weeks one so we can see the progress.

week 2 and 3 results

I can physically feel the difference! My eye area is less red and my under eye dark circles are disappearing, I think the biggest difference comes from the even skin tone the product gives my skin, my cheek area and rest of my face blend well into each other now cause I don’t have uneven skin tone on those areas anymore, the redness normally on my cheeks has faded. My dark spots and acne scarring have faded well and are not really too visible anymore. The only thing I would still want to improve is my chin area’s skin tone still appears a bit darker but hopefully by next week that is looking better.

Thats all from me till next weeks update and progress report!

Lancome Advanced Genifique – Week 2 Results!!!

I Can hardly wait to get this post up because the results on my skin this week are amazing!! I am starting to feel like a new person and would even dare to walk around without foundation on!! That is how amazing this product is. I am litrally glowing a brand new me!

Genifique results

I am on week two now of the Beauty Bulletin Lancome Advanced Genifique review club and I have for two weeks now been applying the product twice daily to my face, one drop in the morning and one in the evening. I have not felt the need to use any other moisturizer in combination with it and have just been washing my face with my usual clinique face soap bar and then applying the Lancome serum. I have for the sake of the trial not used anything else on my face like my clinique toner and stuff cause I would really like to see exactly what the results the Lancome will give me. Ok so basically two weeks now my skin care routine has been washing with the clinique face soap and then applying the Lancome And I also scrubbed my face once a week with a scrub. So the Results you see in my before and after photos for the week are basically truly from the Genifique.

Lancome Genifique results

I am still feeling very impressed with the actual bottle and packaging, I totally love the press button self loading dropper, it is just like beyond handy and just adds an extra touch of fancy to it all! I feel like this is a product you can fall in love with, one of those once in a lifetime finds that you will keep buying so it becomes a staple product in your routine. When I first looked at the price of the product I thought ag lord another expensive I cant afford to buy it again serum, But in all honesty this will be one of those products I will Definitely buy again regardless of the price tag! It sells for R780 for a 30ml and R999 for a 50ml and you can purchase it and have it delivered to your door from this link: Lancome Pop up Shop  I would definitely recommend that you make this Serum your next facial item purchase!!

Lancome Genifique ..

Ok So Here below is last weeks photo and then now this weeks new after photo so you can see the difference. I have noticed a massive difference in the feeling of my skin, my skin feels smooth to the touch and soft and plump. My skin tone is lighter and brighter, the color of my skin is literally brighter 🙂 Totally glowing right now! My age signs (wrinkles, fine lines) are faded/ less visible. The dark spots and marks left by pimples have dramatically faded and are definitely less visible. I have also not had a brake out since starting the trial so that is good news. Have a look at the before and after pics and tell me what you think, do you see an improved difference? I tried to take my pic in the same place in my room with the same light and obviously no makeup hehe

Week 2 before and after.
