How and what i used to do this weeks Monday Mani :) Catrice , MAC, Essence

Happy Friday all!  I thought since it is now Friday and you guys maybe have some time on our hands over the weekend to do your nails, ill tell you how i did my lovely Mani this week and what products i used! so glad everyone liked it this week, the response was lovely! So maybe you can try it or a version of it over your weekend 🙂 lemme know if you do!

Ok so this is actually so very basic to do that its not going to take me very long to explain! Firstly i Used Catrice products for this look, The Catrice Revolutionary 3 step base and Top coat and then this lovely Catrice color in 82 A Gallons of mellon!! And then the Nail art strips are Essence holo nail stripes.

So firstly you do your base coat on clean , shaped and prepped nails…. Give that a few minutes to dry and then you can do one coat of your color and once that is dry then a second coat of color to get your color just perfect! I normally give like a good 10min after this for all of that to settle and dry and then move on..

Next you do the Top coat and give it  a minute and while its still kinda sticky, but not like smudge it sticky. You can start applying your holo nail stripes, they are adhesive stripes so they do stick to where you apply them and once you have the hang of it its super easy! just have a nail clipper or small scissors handy to trim your pieces, i apply first and then trim off the edge of the nail so i can get the amount right.

Make sure that you press down properly on the strip and that it is solidly in place 🙂 it should be nicely stuck to your nail polish! and then you can go ahead and put a decent coat of top coat on over all of that just to set the stripes in place!! and you are done hehe yay! super easy actually!!!  Now i also did this with my new MAC nail color cause i was just too excited to try it out so i sat and did my nails all over again lol but it came out stunning so here is a pic!

MAC wash and dry

This is the MAC wash and dry collection nail lacquer in shade “washeteria”

So as you see you don’t need much to get this right 🙂 its super easy! If you find that the nail stripes are lifting at the sides then just clip the end with a nail clipper and dab a small amount of nail polish remover on the ends. should fix it up!

All these items (except the MAC of course) are available from Dischem.

Happy weekend!!

Catrice Products for great coverage that still looks natural! hide any blemish hehe

This week on the Blog i am going to be focusing on some lovely, affordable Catrice products that i have. Some very pretty makeup looks and nails as well!

Catrice products

But to start off the week i am taking a look at the very basic beginning of any makeup look, the Primer, base and coverage!! These for me are the most important steps of my morning routine as they insure that my skin is prepped for makeup application and that my makeup looks good all day! Catrice offers fantastic value for money products that are affordable and i often find sometimes to be better than the more expensive ones.

Step one for this morning routine (after a wash and usual moisturize) i apply the Catrice Prime and Fine Primer base, i apply some with my hands like i would apply a moisturizer to make sure my whole face is covered and then i take a little bit extra and tap it over the areas that i need more or in this case its normally my forehead where i have large pores and lines i need to fill. The Catrice prime and  fine is a Pore Refining  , Mattifying , Long lasting oil free anti-shine base.  It works wonders for covering large pores and results in your makeup going on smoother and lasting longer! its Definitely worth adding to you morning routine!

Next up on my list is the Catrice 12h Matt Mousse makeup!! im loving this stuff! seriously loving it, im enjoying it more that other products i have spend much much more on!! its frustrating actually that a Product this simple and cheap can be better that some of the top products on the market. It just works wonders and applies easy as well as lasts and looks great all day!!!  I use it in shade 025 Light Beige and it give me perfect, even and natural looking cover that feels good. its not overly heavy on skin and feels natural and it also works with the Prime and fine to fill pores and fine lines. and i only paid R65 for it!!! Bargain hehe

Ok now after iv done those steps i move onto my Catrice Cover stick (i call it my magic wand) Im not sure how i went this long without this product cause now i just cant do a day without it!!! It is like a instant magic blur that perfectly covers any imperfection or dark circle/patch i have on my face! My little routine with it is to dab a little under my eye and in the outer corner of my eye where i have dark circles and to blend with my finger , i also apply it to my cheeks to hide the red cheek lines i get and then cover any spots or freckles or just anything really haha. it covers anything!! I love it so much! And it was R55!! yay!

My final prepping product is the Catrice Prime and Fine eye shadow Base. I have never bothered using an eye shadow base so when i got this one to test out i could actually see what a difference it makes. This product applies easy with its little applicator and only takes a tiny amount to cover the lid. It results in a better more true color from your eye shadow and it stops shadow from settling in the creases of the eye and also prolongs the look of the eye shadow for the entire day! Lovely product and only takes and extra minute to apply quickly.

These Items help alot with getting my makeup to look the way i want it to and also last all day! here is a before and after photo for the application of the above products so you can see how nice it covers. Note the annoying spot i currently have on my cheek haha, hate it! but at least it covers it well.
